Editor's Note

We have some very exciting news to share with the Telerik community. We announced this week the acquisition of Fiddler!

Even more exciting is that Fiddler's brilliant creator Eric Lawrence will come over from Microsoft to join the team fulltime. First and foremost Eric will focus on the advancement of Fiddler but he will also lend his expertise to furthering the success of the Testing Tools division, giving us a formidable competitive advantage.

For those of you who don't know, Fiddler is a web debugging proxy which logs all HTTP(S) traffic between your computer or device and the Internet. The popularity and sophistication of Fiddler is hugely impressive (9,000 downloads per day) considering this has been Eric's side project for more than 8 years.

We completely understand those who are fearful of a commercial company maintaining its commitment to keeping a free tool like Fiddler free post-acquisition. The Fiddler community is very important to us and we are fully committed to keeping Fiddler free, for the long-term. We admire what Fiddler has delivered and want to expand that value by investing in things like expanded platform support, user interface improvements and a first class website with extensive community and support features.

Throughout the process we will keep you informed of what we are working on and will turn to you, our community, to garner as much feedback regarding the direction of Fiddler as possible. In fact, we currently have a survey on the Fiddler homepage, inquiring which areas of the product you'd like us to focus on first.

We Are Win 8 Store Ready

The just-announced Release Candidate version of our Windows 8 suite enables developers to build better looking apps faster for the Windows Store. Get your app to the store first, it counts! The RC also includes two new controls: Pagination and HubTile for both XAML and HTML. The tools are still free, but you can upload apps built with them on the Windows store.

Windows 8 Examples on the Windows Store

The Telerik examples for Windows 8 XAML and HTML are already on the Windows store. The two apps are free of charge with source-code viewer to help you get started with your development. The examples will guide you through all the features of the Telerik suite for Windows 8 development.

Q2 SP2 for Telerik Silverlight & WPF Coming Soon!

The XAML team will soon release the second service pack of this quarter for RadControls for Silverlight and WPF. Its main focus is the UX compatibility with Visual Studio 2012 alongside a host of new features and enhancements so stay tuned to the blogs for the official announcement and details.

Telerik Reporting Supports VS2012 RTM

In SP1 of Telerik Reporting we are introducing support for VS2012 RTM, support for user functions in the standalone report designer, as well as support for the "text-decoration" CSS attribute in the HtmlTextBox report item. The service pack can be downloaded from your accounts or by clicking below.

Simplify Data Access in VS2012

SP2 of OpenAccess ORM is now available for immediate download from your account. This version brought fully functional project templates within the VS2012 RTM environment as well as a list of new enhancements to simplify your data layer coding experience.
