Time to Move On? .NET 3.5 and Beyond

Five years ago we made the decision for DXperience v2006.3 to be the final major update to support Visual Studio 2002/2003 and .NET 1.x.

Today we find ourselves in a similar situation. Our desire to move forward with features and functionality for our WinForms and ASP.NET customers is being restrained by the current support for .NET 2.0. Looking forwards to DXperience v2011.2, we will support Visual Studio 2008 or later, and .NET 3.5 or later.

How does this affect you? Take a look at Julian¡¯s post and leave us your feedback in the comments.

Guest Webinar: Dino Esposito on Code Correctness

Writing tests is not a new concept, and we all agree that it is good practice. But is writing tests the be-all and end-all?

In this webinar recording, Dino invites you to explore the concept of code contracts. The principle of a code contract creates an environment for much more effective refactoring, while not excluding the practice of unit testing.

Stick on your headphones and let Dino explain how introducing software contracts into your development process can help you.

CodeRush Feature Workshop: Adding IDisposable to Existing Classes

The CodeRush Feature Workshop is a weekly webinar series with Mark and Rory. It takes community plug-in suggestions and sees the DevExpress Duo build them live. An energetic two hours of content await you in this recent two-part installment.

The latest webinars deal with code generation and are a great resource. Specifically, these webinars took a suggestion from community member, James Counts, to add IDisposible to all classes.

Remember, you can influence the plug-ins built during this weekly webinar – email your suggestions to Rory including CodeRush Feature Workshop Idea in the subject line.
