PRTG Network Monitor 8 Feature Preview

Version 8 offers a completely new feature: PRTG's failover clustering. It is included in all licenses and enables you to set up a fail-safe monitoring system with seamless data - no more data gaps when the system crashes or when you have to restart your server. Not even a software upgrade of PRTG will interrupt your monitoring.

PRTG 8's cluster features include:

·         • Secure connections between nodes

PRTG 8's redesigned web interface has a clear appearance. Numerous improvements have been made, many of them suggested by PRTG users. The interface now displays helpful monitoring data information on mouseover and enables the system administrator to gain an overview of his network even quicker. It's still PRTG's central interface for all monitoring and configuration tasks, making these tasks even more intuitive and easy.

The new PRTG version 8 includes 280 uniquely designed network icons that enable you to connect map objects with lines that follow a given object when it's moved. PRTG now offers support in creating maps of your whole network structure, even without additional background graphics.

Furthermore the new version enables you to show the location of your devices on a Google map. Simply enter a postal address, city name, or geotag in the "location" field of groups and/or devices to populate the maps with live monitoring data showing red/green/etc, flags for down/up/etc, devices.
