A warm welcome to the last edition of Inside ATLAS.ti for this year. In this issue, we are delighted to announce the ATLAS.ti update 8.1 which introduces the full software in Spanish and German language. - Moreover, we share news from the ATLAS.ti office in Latin America and let you know of ATLAS.ti training opportunities around the globe. ATLAS.ti version 8.1 for Windows and Mac comes with global filters, which will be explained in this issue's Best Practice article.

Update 8.1: Introducing ATLAS.ti 8 in Spanish and German

Version 8.1 was released in November. It is a FREE UPGRADE for all v.8 license holders. Simply run the Live Update and enjoy a great many new tools and features, especially in the areas of networks, linking, coding, and enhanced multimedia data analysis. Most importantly however, ATLAS.ti 8.1 also gives you the complete program in Spanish and German. This will finally put the full potential of the program in the hands of users of these two languages. - Online, you will find a full list of the new features. And on our YouTube channel you will find videos showing you how to change the language of ATLAS.ti.

News from the ATLAS.ti Office Latin America

ATLAS.ti was the official sponsor of the first "International Colloquium of Research on Organizations, Territories and Development" organized by the Prospective Institute of the Universidad del Valle in Colombia. The 2-day event was held on October 30th and 31st, in Cali, Colombia. Researchers from sociology, geography, anthropology, planning, and other related disciplines from Colombia and other Latin American countries gathered to discuss the state of the art of the field. As part of the event, the Latin America team of ATLAS.ti, led by Luis Alfredo Loaiza, offered a 3-day workshop, which served to introduce the Spanish language version of the program. In addition to this conference, our staff gave presentations and raffled licenses at several academic and research units of the Universidad del Valle. We are grateful to the university for hosting and allowing us to present ATLAS.ti to the academic and research community. We'll be back soon!

ATLAS.ti Training Opportunities Around the Globe

Are you looking for ATLAS.ti training opportunities? You can count on our extensive international network of certified trainers to find an ATLAS.ti course near you. We have nearly 200 trainers in over 40 countries all around the world. During this fall semester, Dr. Shiyou Wu facilitated an ATLAS.ti training for students and staff at the Arizona State University Centre for Child Well-Being. In Bahia, Brazil, Dr. Leonardo F. Nascimento taught a course to a group of researchers, and Michal Šindelář taught another course for 30 students at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. These are just some of the ATLAS.ti courses that have recently been offered around the world. We congratulate all of the recent winners of ATLAS.ti licenses that have been raffled in these and other courses.
