Copy equations from your work into PowerPoint

You've finished your research. Now you need to present it
You've just finished your research, and you're preparing a lecture using computations and calculations you worked out in various applications. Or say you created a handout for your math class using Word and you want to turn it into a PowerPoint slide.

Reuse existing equations -- save time and avoid mistakes
Instead of recreating equations from scratch, you can save time and avoid mistakes by re-using already existing equations. With MathType you can extract equations from hundreds of applications and websites such as Mathematica, Maple, Microsoft Office, Wikipedia, and many more.

4 ways to create new equations
If you don't have existing equations you can reuse, MathType 6.5 offers four approaches to creating equations in your presentations:

  • Interactive: Save time using point-and-click templates and symbols. MathType applies mathematical spacing rules automatically as you type.
  • Keyboard shortcuts: Great for those that prefer using the keyboard to create equations. Insert a new equation, or edit an existing one, using just a keystroke.
  • TeX/LaTeX input: If you already know the TeX typesetting language, MathType allows you to build equations by typing TeX into MathType's editing window.
  • Type TeX or LaTeX directly into Microsoft Word: You can enter equations directly into Word documents. Use the Toggle TeX command (Alt+\) to turn what you typed into a MathType equation. Use it again to edit the TeX language.

MathType 6.5 has many new features that include:

  • Equations Everywhere and Anywhere: Up until now, MathType has been thought of mostly as a tool that works with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. But it has always been much more than that. You can label graphs with equations, create equation images for websites, export equations to TeX or MathML, and post equations to blogs, forums, wikis and much more.
  • Enter equations in TeX/LaTeX directly in Word: If you know the TeX typesetting language, you can type it directly into your Word document. When you are done, the TeX code will be converted to a MathType equation. The TeX Toggle keyboard shortcut allows you to toggle between TeX and MathType views of the equation.
  • New translators for Maple, Mathematica, Physics Forum and more: As part of our "Math Everywhere and Anywhere" initiative, we have added new translators for many applications and websites. Check out our Master Interoperability Registry which lists the many, many applications and websites MathType works with.

...and much more!
