Tips and Tricks

Tip 1: Need more room to document your elements? Try Linked Documents.

In the Corporate edition of Enterprise Architect, you can link an RTF document to any UML element in the model.

  1. Select an Element
  2. Right-click and Select ¡°Create Linked Document¡± (Ctrl+Alt+D)

You now have a complete document to include rich-text, images, tables etc.

Tip 2: The fast way to link and add an existing element to your diagram...

  1. Select an element on your diagram.
  2. Drag the new link control (arrow at top right of selected element) to an empty space on the diagram.
  3. As you select the element type you want to link to, hold Shift.
  4. From the dialog, select your target element.

The element is now placed on the diagram at the selected position with the selected link type.
