Zend and Adobe are planning to release Zend Framework version 1.7 with Zend_AMF support at Adobe MAX. The two companies announced in September their joint initiative to make it easier to develop rich Internet applications based on PHP and the free, open source Flex framework. As part of this collaboration Adobe will help to integrate Action Message Format (AMF) support into Zend Framework, which enables high bandwidth data integration between server-side PHP and client-side Flex data and logic components.

Zend will be exhibiting at the Adobe MAX show at the Moscone Center in San Francisco from November 16th-19th. Key focus areas of Adobe MAX are architecture, design, development, and delivery of RIAs. Zend continues to make headlines. In addition to many blog posts and several stories about the Adobe partnership and Zend_AMF which appeared during and after ZendCon, this past month has seen continued speculation on Microsoft & PHP, an excellent article on the Zend 5250 Bridge in IBM Systems Magazine e-newsletter, a follow-up on the new RIA support for Zend Framework in InformationWeek (addressing Dojo Toolkit support for Ajax and the Flex announcement), and with Google and others now throwing their full weight behind the OpenID standard, Developer.com has published an article on Authenticating Users with OpenID and Zend Framework.
