ARS Electronica FutureLab to use 3DVIA Virtools technology
ARS Electronica FutureLab has chosen 3DVIA Virtools technology for its “Museum of the Future”. Since 1979 Ars Electronica has been dedicated to the social and cultural consequences of new technologies, from both artistic and scientific points of view. In 2009 Ars Electronica’s activities will revolve around the new and expanded Museum of the Future, a center for exhibitions and events to impart information and education, as well as research and development.
One main exhibition part of the new Ars Electronica Center will be called “Deep Space”. Deep Space is a separated room with two, large high-resolution projections, producing a large-scale virtual environment for groups of 15 up to 100 people. Visitors can experience a wide range of projects, reaching from high resolution cinema to interactive experiences in which they can actively partake in presentations and performances.
Virtools serves as the main platform for Deep Space. It will be used for the development of interactive, real-time 3D content shown at Deep Space. The two projects currently under development blend nonlinear interactive storytelling and creative interface metaphors in an artistic and playful manner. They invite users to influence the audiovisual environment through their actions.

Discover how an aircraft flies on Dassault Aviation’s website through an application made with 3DVIA Virtools technology. Understand aircraft flying principles, learn about the forces, engine and aerodynamics of the aircraft, and train yourself to fly as a real Rafale pilot.

The Virtual Museum of Via Flaminia showcased at the 3D, Science and Cultural Heritage Exhibition - November 19-23, ENSAM, Metz, France.
Produced by the CNR ITABC and the VHLAB with 3DVIA Virtools technology, the Virtual Museum of Via Flaminia is a virtual reconstruction of an ancient Roman road. You will have a chance to discover how all the Roman-related elements like environments, colors, sounds, objects,characters, behaviors and tales have been virtually brought back to life. Don’t miss the conference Saturday, November 22 at 5pm with Maurizio Forte. This event will take place at the ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Métiers), 4 rue Augustin Fresnel, 57070 Metz, Lorraine, France.
