Do you
work with files that
are constantly
updated by external
applications
or server
processes? Perhaps you use UltraEdit to
monitor log
files...
If so, UltraEdit
provides file
change polling to
make the
monitoring of these
files easier.
UltraEdit's File
change polling
periodically checks,
and
updates, the
contents of files
that continuously
change. This
can be especially
useful for log
files or files that
are dynamically
updated.

Happy New Year from IDM!
First, from all at IDM, we would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and all the very best for 2008.
|
We are very excited about our release plans this year and
the new features that will make your file management tasks easier,
more automated,
and more efficient. Version 14.00 is just around the corner
and is packed with the powerful features you requested and many new tools to make your user experience even better.
In the coming year, you can also look forward to major
releases of all our products to help you keep pace with the file management challenges in today's workplace.
We are especially excited about the coming
release of UltraCompare Professional sometime in Q2.
Of course, our UEStudio users have much to look forward
to as well.
I am also pleased to report that we are making good
progress with UEX, our cross-platform Linux version of UltraEdit.
We hope to have UEX ready for commercial release later in
the year.
To be certain, your feedback is always heard at IDM and every release is a reflection of our desire to exceed your expectations.
Best wishes and Happy New Year,

User
Question of the Month |
Answer: Similar to the freeze panes concept
in Excel, UltraEdit allows you to "freeze" a
vertical column of text - or split
the screen vertically.
To do this, you will need
to designate a value for the 1st column marker
in View : Set/Show Column makers. Enter
the value for the column number at which you
would like to split the screen. Click on
the checkbox to enable (check) the 1st column
marker.
Now, after setting and enabling the 1st column marker, click
on the "No Scroll Left Side of Marker1" in the View menu.
You should now see that the horizontal scroll bar only moves the content to the right of the column marker, while the left side remains
fixed.
