Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from IDM! |
|
Ian D. Mead
(Founder) |
From all of us at IDM, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Personally, I love the holiday season. Thanksgiving is a great time to
spend with family and reflect on all we have and to be Thankful.
Christmas is such a joyful time! For me and many, a time of
thankfulness for the greatest gift of all, that of God's son Jesus. For
those that feel otherwise, it's still such a joyful and merry time that
brings cheer to our lives. As I write this, I am looking out at the
beautiful snow that covers the ground.
As we have said many times, we are also so thankful to each of you - our
customers. IDM and our products would not exist |
without you and your support. Thank you for your continued support!
We look forward to the year ahead as we have much planned that will
benefit you, our users. We strive to continue to meet the needs of all of our user
community and make our products the best that they can be and
leaders in their class.
I challenge each of you that reads this to look around at people you
know, and even those that you don't, and take the opportunity to show
someone a smile, share an encouraging word, or an act of kindness that you
would not otherwise have done.
Thanks again and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
-

UltraEdit provides Projects as
an efficient way to group and
store files, from different
locations, that you use and/or
modify on a daily basis or with
various tasks.
Why use
a Project? Consider you are developing a dynamic website
that includes multiple PHP, HTML,
and CSS files. A project
will keep your files organized,
available, and separate from
other files on your system. |
Project information
is integrated into
multiple areas of
UltraEdit, such as Find/Replace, syntax highlighting, and the Function List, making these operations more specific to
the project you are currently working in. You can also link your local files to the remote server for easy upload and
download... |

User
Question of the
Month |
Answer: We are happy to help
clarify how
Ctags works.
The purpose of Ctags is to help you
find a
function or object that is defined
elsewhere in
the active file or another file (i.e.
header or
source file). You can use this feature
to
navigate through your project to find
the
various functions, variables, class
members, and
so on.
Ctags generates a tag, or index file, of
C/C++
objects and functions found in the
C/C++ header
and source files. The tag file allows
these
items to be referenced and found
quickly from
within UltraEdit. To use Ctags you
must first generate
a Ctags file in the Project
menu.
After you have generated the Tag file,
you
can find a symbol by placing your
cursor next to
the symbol (you wish to find) and
using the Find
Symbol command in the Search
menu.

using Ctags with UltraEdit.
