 PDF417 Font and Encoder Update:

A new version of the PDF417 Font and Encoder has been released that includes a Native VB Module for Visual Basic, Excel and Access, which is a complete encoder function in VB form. It may be slower than accessing the ActiveX DLL and the ApplyTilde feature is not available. However, when distributing an application, the ActiveX DLL does not need to be distributed.

 .NET Forms Control Update:

Updates include enhancements to Code 128, Code 39, UPCa, UPCe, EAN 8 and EAN 13, as well as added USPS OneCode support. There is also a new draw procedure that runs more efficiently. And the included RFID component was updated for more efficient encoding of RFID tags

 Image Generator Update:

Updates in the Linear version consist of improved support for Windows Vista and added support for USPS OneCode. The 2D version includes the Linear updates as well as added support for MacroPDF417 Barcodes.

 GS1 DataBar¢â Barcode Released:

GS1, formerly the UCC-Council.org, has renamed the Reduced Space Symbology (RSS) barcode to the GS1 Databar. This new barcode type can identify small items and can contain more information that the current EAN/UPC barcode. The GS1 System provides several types of bar code for use by GS1 members depending on the application. The bar codes used by GS1 include EAN/UPC, GS1 DataBar, GS1-128, ITF-14, Data Matrix, and Composite Component. For example, the UCC/EAN-128 will now be known as the GS1-128.

GS1 DataBar will enable GTIN identification for hard-to-mark products such as fresh foods and can carry GS1 Application Identifiers like serial numbers, lot numbers, and expiration dates. This will create the opportunity for solutions supporting product authentication and traceability, product quality and effectiveness, variable measure product identification, and creating coupons.

IDAutomation's Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription allows you to receive the latest version of the product, unlimited phone support, priority Help Desk support during work hours and additional help desk support on evenings, weekends and holidays.

If the purchase was before December 2005 through RegNow/Digital River, please contact us with your order ID number and we will send you the updated download link.

 

If you have an active support agreement through our store, you will need to go back to our store online and go to ¡°my account¡±: http://store.idautomation.com/login-st-order.asp. To login you will need to enter your user name (your email address) and the password created at the time of order. When you log in, you should see your order and in the upper right hand corner, you will see a "My Downloads¡± icon link. This will be the location to download the update.

 

For customers who do not purchase the Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription, support is limited to our online knowledge base and the product support site. Product updates are only provided to customers with an active Priority Support and Upgrade Subscription.
