VanDyke Software(R) will no longer develop or sell AbsoluteFTP





In 1996 when AbsoluteFTP(R) was first released, FTP was the best
choice for transferring files on the emerging public network called
the internet.  As the popularity of FTP grew, AbsoluteFTP's features
and capabilities were extended to keep up with ever more sophisticated
requirements.




In 1998, VanDyke Software introduced SecureFX(R) to address increasing
concern over FTP's inherent lack of security.  Supporting the Secure
Shell File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) as well as conventional FTP,
SecureFX is a multi-protocol application for all of your file transfer
needs.




We have made the decision to cease active development of AbsoluteFTP
and concentrate on enhancing SecureFX.  Secure file transfer has
become a business requirement in many industries, spurred by
legislative initiatives like HIPPA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and the
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Banking Act.  Even industries not impacted by
these regulations have acknowledged the importance of guarding the
confidentiality of information related to their employees, partners,
and customers.



To assist your current AbsoluteFTP customers in making a transition
to SecureFX, we have reduced the list cost of upgrading to SecureFX
by 50%.  Your discounted cost will vary depending on quantity, and
your current discount level.  Refer to your Reseller Pricing page on
the VanDyke Software website, or contact sales@vandyke.com  for the
latest pricing information.



A current AbsoluteFTP serial number is required to purchase an
upgrade at this special price.  Serial numbers can be found in the
license letter you or your customer received when AbsoluteFTP was
purchased or last upgraded.  License information is also available
from within the application.  Select "About AbsoluteFTP" from the
Help menu to find the serial number.  Our Orders department will be
happy to assist you if those options are not practical in a
particular situation.

We will continue to make AbsoluteFTP installers available for download
for existing customers but will no longer sell new licenses for the
application, effective May 11, 2006.  We plan to continue offering
support for AbsoluteFTP customers through May 11, 2007.
